New Zealand Skydiving Records
If you’re planning to set a New Zealand skydiving record, we’d love to hear from you!
The process for claiming a record depends on whether it was achieved during an NZ Skydiving-sanctioned competition or outside of competition.
Please note: All participants must have a current NZ Skydiving affiliation before the record attempt takes place.
Records Set at NZ Skydiving Competitions
If a record is achieved during an NZ Skydiving-sanctioned competition and has been judged by an appropriately rated Judge, it already meets the qualification requirements.
To have the record officially recognised, simply complete and submit the Record Claim Form.
Records Set Outside Competition
If you’re attempting a record outside of competition – for example, the largest formation, most jumps in 24 hours, or another significant achievement – please follow these steps.
Before you can skydive in New Zealand, you’ll need to complete two simple steps:
Step 1
Let Us Know
Before your attempt, complete Part 1 of the Record Claim Form and submit it to the NZ Skydiving Executive Committee.
Early notification allows us to:
- confirm whether your proposed record is eligible
- advise you of any evidence or documentation you’ll need
- determine whether a qualified Judge is required for the attempt.
Please notify us as early as possible so we can help ensure your record attempt meets the recognition requirements.
Step 2
Complete Your Record Attempt
Once your attempt has been completed successfully, complete Part 2 of the Record Claim Form.
You’ll be asked to provide details such as:
- participants’ names
- NZ Skydiving membership numbers
- location
- date
- exit altitude
- type of record
- any other information requested on the form.
Step 3
Submit Your Claim
Submit your completed Record Claim Form together with any supporting evidence, such as photographs or video footage.
Your claim will be reviewed by the NZ Skydiving Executive Committee and/or the Chief Judge before the record is officially recognised.
